OuterMotion

Autonomous intelligence for physical operations.

Three AI products that give existing factory equipment, cameras, and sensors an intelligent brain — turning disconnected machines into coordinated, autonomous systems.

The thesis

The industries that move physical things are still running on manual processes. Quality inspection, vehicle coordination, dock scheduling, production monitoring — performed by people with clipboards, radios, and spreadsheets.

OuterMotion bridges the gap between hardware and software. We are building an AI-native platform that connects the factory gate to the production floor to the shipping dock — one intelligent system seeing everything.

Market opportunity

Australia’s manufacturing sector employs 902,000 people. The skills shortage is acute — 36% of assessed occupations are in national shortage. 80% of manufacturers are investing or planning to adopt AI. The gap: there is no Australian-built, AI-native platform connecting manufacturing floor operations to yard logistics.

One platform, three products

OuterMotion is not three separate products. It is one AI-native platform with three product modules that share a common technology layer. Every module uses the same cameras, the same edge compute hardware, the same cloud platform, and the same computer vision engine.

A factory that buys one product already has the infrastructure for the other two — upselling is a software unlock, not a new installation.

Sensing Layer

Industrial cameras and sensors capture visual data

Deployed on-site, no production line changes required

Intelligence Layer

Computer vision models detect, classify, and track in real-time

Custom-trained per factory, edge inference

Orchestration Layer

Coordinates multi-step workflows as connected missions

Deterministic decisions for safety-critical operations

Integration Layer

Connects to your existing factory systems

ERP, MES, WMS compatibility

Dashboard Layer

Single view across all operations

Real-time visibility and analytics

Product 1: InspectAI

The eyes on the production line.

A camera-and-edge-compute unit that plugs into any production line and performs real-time visual quality inspection. Detects defects, classifies them, measures dimensions, and makes pass/fail decisions at line speed.

01

Site Assessment

Field engineer visits the factory, identifies inspection points, documents lighting and line speed.

02

Hardware Deployment

Mount camera and edge compute unit. No changes to existing production line. Day 1-2.

03

Data Collection

Capture 500-2,000 images of products. Operators tag known defect types. Day 2-5.

04

Model Training

Train custom computer vision model on specific products and defects. Day 5-10.

05

Go-Live

Deploy model to edge. Real-time inspection begins. Human monitors alongside for 48 hours.

06

Continuous Learning

Uncertain detections flagged for review. Corrections feed back into retraining.

Product 2: YardAI

The brain at the factory gate.

An AI-powered yard operating system that automates gate check-in/check-out, tracks vehicle and trailer movements, coordinates dock scheduling, and provides real-time visibility — from highway to warehouse door.

An AI-powered yard operating system purpose-built for Australian manufacturing sites. We go further than basic yard management: connecting yard operations to the production floor.

Gate Intelligence

Automated check-in/check-out using ANPR. Reads plates, verifies arrivals, logs compliance.

Yard Visibility

Real-time map of every vehicle, trailer, and asset. Tracks movements and dwell times.

Dock Scheduling

AI-optimised dock assignment based on load type, priority, and production schedule.

Mission Orchestration

Chains gate entry → yard → dock → unloading → production → exit as one coordinated mission.

Analytics

Dwell time analysis, throughput metrics, bottleneck identification, compliance reporting.

The Yard-to-Floor Connection

YardAI connects to the production schedule via MES/ERP integration so dock assignments are prioritised by production need. If Line 3 is about to run out of raw materials, YardAI fast-tracks the right truck to the optimal dock. No other yard management system does this.

Product 3: FloorAI

The intelligence layer on the factory floor.

An AI monitoring system that watches production equipment in real-time. Detects anomalies, tracks cycle times, identifies bottlenecks, and predicts equipment failures before they cause unplanned downtime.

Production Monitoring

Cameras track cycle times, count units, measure throughput in real-time

Anomaly Detection

ML models learn normal equipment behaviour and flag deviations — unusual vibrations, irregular movements

Predictive Maintenance

Correlates anomaly patterns with failure data to predict when equipment needs maintenance

Bottleneck Analysis

Identifies which station is constraining throughput at any given moment

OEE Dashboard

Real-time Overall Equipment Effectiveness across all monitored lines

FloorAI builds on production data captured by InspectAI cameras, enabling predictive insights that improve over time.

The flywheel

The real power of OuterMotion is not any single product — it is the compounding value when products combine at a single site.

Quality data links to inbound material sources. Dock scheduling optimises by real-time production status. Defect trends correlate with equipment degradation.

One platform sees the truck arrive, the material enter production, the product get inspected, and the finished goods leave.

InspectAI + YardAI

Defect cluster detected → traced to specific supplier delivery → alert procurement

YardAI + FloorAI

Production delay → dock assignments reprioritised → yard congestion prevented

InspectAI + FloorAI

Defect rate rising → bearing anomaly detected → maintenance scheduled before failure

Edge-first architecture

All inference runs at the edge — on-site, on the factory floor, with zero cloud dependency for real-time decisions. Production lines run at speed. Australian factories have unreliable internet. Defence manufacturers won’t send images to the cloud.

Latency

Edge inference delivers results in <50ms. Cloud round-trip adds 100-500ms.

Connectivity

System works fully offline. Cloud used only for training and analytics.

Data Sovereignty

All production data stays on-site. Critical for defence manufacturing.

Go-to-market

The Factory Scan

Our primary sales tool: a free half-day on-site assessment. Our field engineer walks the factory floor with the ops manager, identifies inspection points, photographs production lines, and documents the yard layout.

This produces a Factory Intelligence Report showing exactly where defects are escaping, what dwell times look like, and what equipment downtime is costing.

Most factories that complete a scan see immediate value and choose to deploy.

The scan process

1

Walk the floor

Field engineer and ops manager identify inspection points, yard layout, equipment.

2

Document

Photograph production lines, measure line speeds, catalogue defect types.

3

Analyse

Build Factory Intelligence Report: quality gaps, yard inefficiency, downtime costs.

4

Present

Show the ops manager what they’re losing and how OuterMotion prevents it.

5

Deploy

Same hardware, immediate results. Operational within days.

Phased launch
Phase 1

InspectAI

InspectAI deployment — proving the technology with Australian manufacturers.

Phase 2

YardAI

Phase 3

Full Platform

Full platform — the complete OuterMotion operating system.

First we give factories eyes. Then we give them a brain. Ultimately, we give them hands. Each phase funds and enables the next.
